Second Saturdays – Jewelry Marketplace

Join the Heard Museum for a day of exquisite jewelry and demonstrations featuring numerous talented artists including Dina Huntinghorse (Wichita), Jesse Monongye (Navajo), Ric Charlie (Navajo), Watson Honanie (Hopi), Edison Cummings (Navajo) and many more!

 

Activities from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m:

Nizhónígo Anílééh (Make it Beautiful) Designs presents: Centerpieces through an Indigenous Creative Process with Shawna Shandiinn Sunrise (Diné/Kewa)

It is always festive to have a centerpiece in your home reflecting the new year with FRESH flowers! We will provide a basic green container, greenery, candles and assorted fresh flowersYou are welcome to bring along your own clippers or containers to this workshop and any other fresh flowers of your choice. You will learn placement and certain tips on how to create a fresh arrangement by Shawna Shandiin Sunrise. Shawna has over 15 years of experience and is currently embarking on an independent floral design business based on her creative process called Nizhónígo Anílééh (Make It Beautiful) designs.

Music performance by Aaron White (Northern Whiteriver Ute/Diné)

Aaron is a Grammy nominated artist, Native American Music Award Recipient, award winning flute maker and a singer/songwriter/instrumentalist. Located in the Courtyard.
