Educator Event: Flavors of the Past & Present

A healthy start to the New Year!

Arizona K-12 educators are invited to a free event Jan. 4 from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. to explore traditional ingredients and foods used by Indigenous people across the continent throughout time. Learn how to prepare a delicious dish with ancestral ingredients and taste the flavors of culinary wisdom.

Participants also receive free entry to the museum to tour our library and exhibitions, including our signature exhibition, HOME: Native People in the Southwest. HOME showcases masterpieces from the museum’s collection; sweeping landscapes, poetry and personal recollections on an unforgettable journey through the Southwest and the vibrant arts and cultures of Native people. The exhibition covers educational subjects of science, English, social studies, math, art, and history.

Educators will receive curriculum resources and a certificate for tracking professional development hours.

Light refreshments will be served.

This event is free for educators but space is limited and reservations are required. RSVP here.
