The Heard Museum is located on Central Avenue four blocks north of McDowell Road at Encanto Boulevard.
Directions from I-10
1. Exit 7th Street, and turn RIGHT (north).
2. Turn LEFT (west) at the first major intersection, McDowell Road. (You’ll need to move across 7th Street quickly to reach the left turn lanes onto McDowell.)
3. Turn RIGHT (north) on Central Avenue.
4. Turn RIGHT (east) into the Heard Museum.

Museum Parking
Free, on-site parking is available for all visitors. To accommodate school and tour groups, we also have parking for busses and RVs available at no additional charge.
Light Rail Access
The Heard Museum is easily accessible via Valley Metro Light Rail. Step right off the light rail and into the museum entrance from the Encanto/Central stop.
Drop-off
Arriving by ride share? Have your ride drop-off/pick-up at our designated ride share stop in the curved area behind the museum near the Courtyard Cafe.

Personal Items
Backpacks, umbrellas, selfie sticks, and similar items are not permitted in the museum. Please leave them at home, or store them in one of our complimentary lockers.
Food & Drink
Outside food and drinks, are not permitted inside the museum. Food and drinks are available for purchase and must be consumed in our Courtyard Café or Coffee Cantina.
Video/Photography
No flash photography, commercial photography, selfie sticks, or tripods are permitted in the galleries. Please review our photo/video policy to protect the rights of artists.
Accessibility
Wheelchairs are available on a first-come, first-served basis for complimentary use during your visit. Learn more about additional museum accessibility resources.
Weapons
We strive to create a safe and welcoming environment for everyone. Weapons (handguns, pepper spray, knives, etc.) are not permitted on the premises.
Children Under 12
We welcome children of all ages and invite families to visit our Heardlings Activity Room. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
Smoking
Smoking, including the use of e-cigarettes, is permitted in designated outdoor areas only and is prohibited within 20 feet of the museum entrance.
Service Animals
We welcome guests and their service animals. Non-service comfort animals and pets (of any species or breed) are not permitted in the museum.
