Fun for the Whole Family

The Heard welcomes — and appreciates — visitors of all ages! A visit to the museum is a great way for families to learn about American Indian history and culture.

During your visit, be sure to pop into the Heardlings Family Activity Room, located near the South Courtyard. This interactive, touch-friendly space is a cool and creative way to take a break with the kids and engage in arts and crafts projects. Use colorful pegs to make art together at the Artist Spot-Lite, watch storytelling videos at the Story Circle, add designs to a giant basket at the Illustration Station, and complete a writing activity about an afternoon in the desert at the Word Play station. #heardlings

To ensure your visit as a family is as comfortable as possible, we have family restrooms and a nursing room available on the first floor.

For the safety of our guests and art, baby-wearing is permitted inside the museum using front-worn slings or carriers only.
