Heardlings Family Activity Room

Step into a space designed with Indigenous artists where families come together to play and learn! Bring out the artist in you on the Art Spot-Lite, a huge board that lights up with your designs. Create stories with symbols at the Illustration Station, where you can decorate a giant O’odham olla with vibrant colors. Immerse yourself in stories at the Story Circle, where iPad videos bring storytelling to your fingertips. And don’t forget to flex your imagination with Word Play, a fun writing activity that’s full of surprises. Embark on an adventure together with Archie amidst a colorful mural of desert animals.

Heardlings Art Cart

Swing by the Heardlings Art Cart as soon as you arrive at the museum and grab your gear, including the awesome Family Map and Kids Activity Guide. And on special days, we’ve got hands-on activities tied to our latest exhibitions waiting for you at the Art Cart. Best part? They’re free for Members and included with your regular admission. Family Map

Ready to embark on an art search with your family? Grab our Family Map to discover the favorite spots and artworks loved by our Heardlings at the museum. Kids Activity Guide

Get ready for some artistic fun! Don’t forget to snag this cool companion piece to your Family Map, along with a Heardlings pencil. Why? Because we’ve got two awesome drawing activities waiting for you at some of our Heardlings Highlights. Dive into the world of Majestic Figures with its soft sculptures, and explore the beauty of Zuni jewelry in HOME: Native People in the Southwest. Archie can’t wait to see what you’ll create!

Hungry Heardlings can use their take-home crayons to complete 4 activities inspired by the animals in the Heard Museum’s signature exhibition, Substance of Stars. Relive the Fun: Family Reflection & Coloring!
