Behind the Scenes of The Museum Shop with The American Art Collective Podcast

“We felt it was time to create a space that truly honored all of the artists,” explained Kelly Gould (Heard Museum Director of Retail).

This episode also includes a special behind-the-scenes look into the 67th Annual Indian Fair & Market when the shop hosts eight featured artists. Guests have an opportunity to meet the artists and learn more about their creative processes during the event on March 1 – 2, 2025 and all attendees are welcome to explore the newly renovated shop throughout the weekend.

The Heard Museum Shop first opened its doors in 1958 to serve as a place for art enthusiasts searching for authentic Native American artworks while directly partnering with Indigenous artists and supporting Native communities. Nearly 70 years later, it continues to be a meaningful part of the Heard Museum experience. The shop’s commitment to working directly with Native artists aligns with the museum’s mission of connecting the world to Indigenous creativity.
