You are invited to the 23rd Annual Katsina Doll Marketplace.
The tradition of Katsina carving comes to vibrant life at the Heard Museum’s 23rd Annual Katsina Doll Marketplace: A Gathering of Carvers. This free event is the largest gathering of Hopi Katsina carvers, bringing together renowned artists, collectors, and enthusiasts inside the museum’s Steele Auditorium.
Katsina dolls hold profound meaning in Hopi culture, representing spiritual messengers and embodying teachings, prayers, and blessings. The Katsina Marketplace offers a unique opportunity to meet talented Hopi carvers, witness carving demonstrations, and enjoy live music — including performances by Ryon Polequaptewa (Hopi) at 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. outside Steele Auditorium.
