All About the Heardlings Art Cart

The Heardlings Art Cart is your hub for resources and activities for families visiting the Heard Museum. Daily, the cart is located past the Admissions desk. Here, children and their caregivers can get oriented and pick up materials designed just for them, including a Family Map and Kids Activity Guide. The Heardlings Art Cart is also the place to look for exhibition-specific guides for families.

On scheduled dates, the Heardlings Art Cart will host hands-on activities relating to current exhibitions. These activities are free for Members and included with regular admission.

What are Heardlings?

The Heardlings is a family friendly initiative committed to engaging and educating children and their adult caregivers. Led by a welcoming animal guide – Archie the Jackrabbit, named after the museum’s iconic arches – young museum-goers are invited to experience new locations made just for families, the Heardlings Family Activity Room, and the Heardlings Art Cart. Additionally, families can enjoy an interactive map to kids’ favorite artworks at the museum; special exhibition guides with art-making activities; signature events for youth audiences; a child-friendly menu at the Courtyard Café; Heardlings merchandise at Books & More; being part of the fluffle (the name for a group of young rabbits) with a Family Membership; and HeardBeat, a youth and family e-newsletter.
