Is your little one an early riser? Then come join us for Family Early Hour!

Families with kids will enjoy exclusive access to the entire museum before it opens to the public, starting with the Heardlings Art Cart to grab your Family Map and Kids Activity Guide for a more engaging gallery exploration. Don’t miss the Heardlings Family Activity Room, a vibrant space created with Indigenous artists where families can play, create, and learn together.

As you explore, enjoy live classical music from Craig Bohmler, performed on the very piano once owned by Dwight and Maie Bartlett Heard, the museum’s founders. If you need a break, head to our sensory-friendly Monte Vista Room, set up as a quiet space for families. Family Early Hour is open to all families with children and included with regular museum admission, offering a perfect blend of culture, creativity, and music!

About the Artist:

Craig Bohmler is a composer and pianist whose works have been frequently performed in North America, Europe, and Japan. Mr. Bohmler has three operas and fourteen musicals to his credit as well as numerous choral and orchestral works. His musicals ENTER THE GUARDSMAN and GUNMETAL BLUES have been performed internationally including Off-Broadway and London’s West End. His opera RIDERS OF THE PURPLE SAGE was commissioned and premiered at Arizona Opera in 2017 He has been the recipient of several grants including three NEA grants and three “meet the composer” grants. His works are published by Theatrical Rights Worldwide, Concord Theatricals, E.C. Schirmer, and Dramatic Publishing.
