About the Curator:

Olivia Barney (Diné/Navajo) is a member of the Curatorial department at the Heard Museum. She began her career at the museum as an Andrew W. Mellon Fellow and since then has transitioned into the role of Collections Coordinator. She is the curator for the Art & Sole exhibition at the Heard Museum and was a co-curator for The North Star Changes: Works by Brenda Mallory. Outside of her curatorial work, Ms. Barney is an artist, as well. Her artwork has been included in multiple exhibitions, featured on WOSU-PBS’s Broad & High, and in journals by Michigan State University Press, The University of Manitoba, Red Rising Magazine, Native Realities Press, and Columbus Monthly magazine.
