This October the Heard Museum welcomes the artwork of David Hockney to the Grand Gallery. An internationally acclaimed artist with a career spanning nearly 70 years, his artwork includes diverse media such as paintings, prints and photography among others. The exhibition will highlight Hockney’s interpretation of Yosemite National Park during different decades of his life and through the use of different media. Here are four selections from the Library collection that offer distinctive vantage points for the artist as he examines his life with a biographer, as he explores his own artwork in a retrospective at 75 and as he expresses his views on art through the ages. These works providing assorted avenues to understanding David Hockney are currently on display in the public reading area of the Library. Please feel free to visit the Library to review these or any other items of interest in the Library and Archives collections.
