A Special Showcase and Celebration of Artwork Made by Recent Creative Aging Workshop Artists at the Heard Museum

Join us as we celebrate the creativity, dedication, and community of our Creative Aging participants (adults 55+) who took part in this year’s Blue Bird Apron and Reversible Bucket Hat Workshop led by teaching artist Kiara Reid (Diné/French-Canadian).

This special event showcases the beautiful artwork created by students 55 and better under the guidance of the teaching artist. Guests will have the opportunity to view participants’ sewing, connect with artists, and uplift the spirit of learning, creativity, and community that continues to thrive through the Heard Museum’s Creative Aging program.

All are welcome to attend and support our participants. Light refreshments provided.

About Kiara Reid

The Blue Bird Apron and Reversible Bucket Hat Creative Aging Workshops were led by teaching artist Kiara Reid (Diné/French-Canadian) from the Navajo Nation. Her artwork draws inspiration from both traditional and contemporary practices. She shares her knowledge through workshops across Turtle Island, inspiring others to explore their creative potential.

What is Creative Aging?

Creative Aging programs at the Heard Museum are designed to help participants (55+) develop their artistic abilities through intentional, step-by-step instruction. These activities provide opportunities for meaningful connection and interaction with others while learning a new medium and working on your own creation. They are led by professional teaching artists and encourage community engagement alongside other creative minds. Keep an eye out for announcements about upcoming Creative Aging Workshops and events!
