Databases

The Billie Jane Baguley Library and Archives enhances its library holdings through a variety of electronic databases which further support research and learning. The databases are divided into two sections – databases that are only available onsite and those which are readily available through the internet.

Databases Available Onsite

Access Newspaper ARCHIVE

NewspaperARCHIVE.com, the largest historical newspaper database online, contains tens of millions of newspaper pages from 1607 to present. Available on library public access computers at the Billie Jane Baguley Library and Archives.

AskART

AskART is an online database containing over 250,000 artists providing access to information about the artists biographies, auction records, financial graphics, magazine ads pre-1998, and images. Available on library public access computers at Billie Jane Baguley Library and Archives.

JSTOR

JSTOR is a full-text digital library of more than 1,500 academic journals, books and primary sources. Available on library public access computers at the Billie Jane Baguley Library and Archives.

Databases Available Through The Internet

ArchiveGrid

ArchiveGrid is a collection of nearly two million archival material descriptions supported by OCLC Research. ArchiveGrid includes archival collections held by thousands of libraries, museums, historical societies and archives.

HathiTrust Digital Library

HathiTrust is a partnership of academic and research institutions, offering a collection of millions of titles digitized from libraries around the world.

Heard Museum Digital Library

The Digital Library represents a virtual selection from the archives, library and art collection including photographs, repository guides, documentary materials, and images of art objects.

Heard Museum Online Catalog

The library catalog includes over 49,000 items including books, periodicals, videos, CDs, archival collections and other materials. The online catalog is made possible through the generosity of the Phoenix Public Library.

Heard Museum Pamphlet Collection Thesaurus

The Pamphlet Collections includes 133 linear feet of clippings, booklets, reprints and pamphlets arranged in over 1600 broad topics.

WorldCat

WorldCat is the world’s largest network of library content and services connecting to the collections and services of more than 10,000 libraries worldwide with more than 2 billion records.
