Virtual Art Talk | Indigenous Design: Towards a More Equitable Fashion Industry

Join us live online with Heard Museum Fine Arts Curator Erin Joyce, who will be moderating a discussion with Christian Allaire (Ojibwe), fashion and style writer at Vogue Magazine and author of The Power of Style, and Indigenous fashion designers Korina Emmerich (Puyallup) and Jamie Okuma (Luiseño and Shoshone-Bannock), as they discuss fashion design, the appropriation of Indigenous designs, patterns and aesthetics by the global fashion industry, and ways forward for an equitable and decolonial fashion practice.

This event is free but registration is required.
