Virtual Art Talk | Back to School Month with Author Traci Sorell

In honor of August being National Back to School Month, we invite you to join us live online for a discussion with award-winning author Traci Sorell (Cherokee) about her life and book, Classified: The Secret Career of Mary Golda Ross, Cherokee Aerospace Engineer. A ‘Hidden Figure,’ Mary Golda Ross (Cherokee) was born in August of 1908 and was one of the first known female Indigenous engineers. Amongst her most notable achievements, Golda Ross was one of the 40 founding engineers of the renowned and highly secretive Skunk works project at Lockheed Corporation, and one of the authors of the NASA Planetary Flight Handbook Vol. III.
