Learn about the first Americans who continue to inhabit what is today’s Southwestern United States, from prehistoric to modern times, in this short course on three Thursdays this fall.
Attendees will learn abut how today’s Native peoples continue to blend their ancient traditions with the challenges of the 21st century, and should come away with new respect for Indigenous peoples and appreciation for their art and cultures.
The short course, “An Overview of Southwestern Tribes,” will be presented by the Heard Museum Guild from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Oct. 1, 8 and 15 in the Encanto Room of the Dorrance Educational Center. Linda Hefter, Heard docent, is the instructor.
