A legacy for American Indian Fine Art movement, Allan Houser began his career with the humble Dorothy Dunn school in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Internationally recognized with solo exhibitions, fellowships, and distinguished awards. A teacher of the arts, Houser was one of the first teaching cohorts for the newly created Institute of American Indian Arts, 1962. Houser was a versatile artist, mastering multiple mediums. Come see why and how Houser’s legacy continues today with the film Unconquered. Following this film we will also be screening the short film Threshold about Preston Singletary, a Tlinkit glass artist.
