Create your own masterpiece inspired by Kay WalkingStick!

Take a break together outdoors and enjoy this beautiful time of year as part of our art-making series inspired by the new exhibition Kay WalkingStick / Hudson River School. Surrounded by fresh air and creativity, spend quality time with friends or family as you paint, talk, and connect.

This relaxed, drop-in activity invites participants of all ages and experience levels to slow down, look closely, and reflect on our relationships to land — just as Cherokee artist Kay WalkingStick does in her work.

What to expect:

  • Outdoor painting surrounded by the museum’s landscape
  • Art supplies included — watercolor paints, paper, brushes
  • Quality time with family and friends as you make art together
  • Helpful support from Heard Museum Education staff
  • Painting prompts that connect art and land

Let this be a moment to be inspired by Indigenous creativity, enjoy the season, and appreciate the stories carried by the landscapes around us.

Included with admission and FREE for members.
