2018 marks the 150th anniversary of the 1868 treaty signing between the U.S. and Navajo Nation. In 1868, Diné leaders signed Naaltsoos Sání, the “Old Paper” or treaty that returned land back to the Diné people as well as laid out a memorandum of understanding for future U.S./Navajo relations. Join Freddie Johnson, a Diné culture and language consultant living in Mesa, AZ and the recipient of the 2012 Spirit of the Heard Award as he recounts the events of 1868 and the historical and cultural significance of Naaltsoos Sání.
