Make your own Three Sisters collage!

Stop by the Heardlings Art Cart to make a collage while learning about the Three Sisters (corn, beans, squash). This hands-on activity will be facilitated by Heard Museum Engagement & Learning Programs staff and is included with regular admission.

We’ll be located in the Lyon Family Crossroads gallery, making it easy to create your collage after seeing corn, beans, and squash in HOME: Native People in the Southwest.

All About the Heardlings Art Cart

The Heardlings Art Cart is your hub for resources and activities for families visiting the Heard Museum. On a daily basis, the cart will be just past the Admissions desk. Here, children and their caregivers can get oriented and pick up materials designed just for them, including a Family Map and Kids Activity Guide. The Heardlings Art Cart is also the place to look for exhibition-specific guides for families.

On scheduled dates – including Wednesday, June 26, the Heardlings Art Cart will host hands-on activities relating to current exhibitions. These activities are free for Members and included with regular admission.

What are Heardlings?

The Heard Museum has launched Heardlings, a family friendly initiative committed to engaging and educating children and their adult caregivers. Led by a welcoming animal guide – Archie the Jackrabbit, named after the museum’s iconic arches – young museum-goers are invited to experience new locations made just for families, the Heardlings Family Activity Room and the Heardlings Art Cart. In addition, families can enjoy an interactive map to kids’ favorite artworks at the museum; special exhibition guides with art-making activities; signature events for youth audiences; a child-friendly menu at the Courtyard Café; Heardlings merchandise at Books & More; being part of the fluffle (the name for a group of young rabbits) with a family membership; and HeardBeat, a youth and family e-newsletter.
