First Fridays at the Heard: ‘Music!’

Native + You: September

The theme for September is “Music!” As a special presentation, at 7:30 p.m., enjoy music performed by The Catalyst Quartet. Their selection of works were composed by students at Tuba City High, Chine High School, Whitehorse High School, Red Valley/Cove High School, and Salt River High School as part of the Native America Composer Apprentice Project (NACAP) and will be presented by the Grand Canyon Music Festival in partnership with the Heard Museum in our Steele Auditorium. Navajo composers Raven Chacon and Michael Begay will present the works and be available to answer questions after the performance. General admission tickets for this performance are $10, $5 for museum membersavailable online. Tickets will also be available at the door

And meet Navajo jeweler Vernon Begaye from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Museum Shop.
