Join us for a special performance by Gyasi Ross (Blackfeet). Ross will share his newly release spoken word and poetry album. “Isskootsik” (“Before Here was Here”) is the debut album from the author, activist, attorney and American Indian spoken-word artist. Joined by Calina Lawrence (Suquamish) and Obiodun Oyewole, founder of the Last Poets creating a rich performance of poetry, music and heart. It’s all from 7:30 to 9 p.m. in the Monte Vista Room.
In the Central Courtyard, hear music by Aleks and Paula, playing a blend of jazz standards, folk songs and original music.
And jeweler Edison Cummings (Navajo) will be demonstrating his art 6 to 8 p.m. in the Museum Shop.
