Join us for a special performance by Gyasi Ross (Blackfeet). Ross will share his newly release spoken word and poetry album. â€śIsskootsikâ€ť (â€śBefore Here was Hereâ€ť) is the debut album from the author, activist, attorney and American Indian spoken-word artist. Joined byÂ Calina Lawrence (Suquamish) and Obiodun Oyewole, founder of the Last Poets creating a rich performance of poetry, music and heart. It’s all from 7:30 to 9 p.m. in the Monte Vista Room.
In the Central Courtyard, hear music by Aleks and Paula, playing a blend of jazz standards, folk songs and original music.
And jeweler Edison Cummings (Navajo) will be demonstrating his art 6 to 8 p.m. in the Museum Shop.
