First Fridays at the Heard: ‘¡Fiesta con Frida!’ Frida’s Holiday Fiesta buffet dinner and celebration

DINNER SOLD OUT Kick off the holidays this First Friday by experiencing the flavors of Frida Kahlo’s favorite recipes: Savor an incredible, one-time only fiesta buffet re-created by the chefs of the Heard Museum’s Courtyard Cafe!

Note: Those who have purchased tickets will receive a receipt via email that must be brought to the event for seating. Registered diners may arrive at any time during their assigned seating period.

First Friday Programming

Whether you’re attending the dinner or not, we’re offering a host of activities for this First Friday:

  • Meet Wichita jeweler Fortune Huntinghorse from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Heard Museum Shop!
  • The Phoenix Fridas will return to display and sell their art.
  • Enjoy a mariachi band strolling through the courtyard.
  • Acoustic music in the Central Courtyard during mariachi intermissions.
  • Free admission to the museum from 6 to 10 p.m.
  • The Courtyard Cafe will be open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Dec. 4 with a light, reduced menu, then closed during the evening. Our Coffee Cantina will be open during the day as usual, then during First Friday evening, 6 to 9 p.m. Dec. 4, it will be open and serving adult beverages, soft drinks and snacks.

Line onto trolleyFIRST FRIDAY TROLLEYS NOW STOP AT THE HEARD: The First Friday trolleys will be dropping off and picking up passengers at the Heard Museum starting Friday, Nov. 6, and on First Fridays from then on. Trolleys will run counterclockwise on an approximately eight-mile route through central core arts districts approximately every 20 minutes between 6 and 10 p.m. each First Friday. Please board a trolley no later than 9:30 p.m. to return to the Heard.

Visitors who park their vehicles in the Heard lots to board a trolley must return to the museum to claim their vehicles no later than 10:30 p.m., when gates to the lots will be closed. Here’s a map and details of the trolley route.

Please note that during regular hours, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Dec. 4, the Courtyard Cafe will be serving a light, reduced menu while we prepare for the evening dinner. The Cafe will be closed First Friday evening as the Fiesta dinner is served in Steele Auditorium. However, the Coffee Cantina will be open First Friday evening, Dec. 4, for soft drinks, snacks and adult beverages.
