First Friday at the Heard – Aloha at the Heard

Enjoy a cool respite from a hot summer night at the Heard with cool treats and even cooler theater:

  • Kona Ice will bring their vendor truck to the Freeport-McMoran Plaza to sell their special Hawaiian frozen taste treats that will take you to the islands faster than a blustery trade wind.
  • We will also be joined by the members of  iTheatre Collaborative, who will host the last of a three-part play reading series. Each event showcases a play written by an American Indian playwright. This event features a reading from the play The Women Who Loved House Trailers by Cherokee playwright Diane Glancy.

Free admission to the Heard’s galleries from 6 to 10 p.m. every First Friday except March.

First Friday trolleys stop at the Heard!

First Friday trolleys pick up and drop off passengers at the Heard Museum along its route through central Phoenix on every First Friday except March. The Heard is one of five hubs along the approximately five-mile route. Trolleys stop at each hub about every 20 minutes from 6 p.m. to about 9:30 p.m. Here is a map of the trolley route. NOTE: The gates to the Heard’s parking lot close each First Friday at 10:30 p.m.

Valley Metro Rail also runs as usual, with the Encanto Boulevard/Central Avenue stop directly in front of the Heard Museum. Please visit the Valley Metro website for route info and stop times.
