This documentary tells the story of two Lipan Apache children captured along the Texas-Mexico border in 1877 by the U.S. Army 4th Cavalry. The children rode with the soldiers for three years before being taken to the Carlisle Indian School in Pennsylvania. Ties with their family were completely severed. The documentary reveals how in 2009, Lipan Apache descendants from California, Texas and New Mexico came to Carlisle to offer blessings so the children could be sent home. One of the collaborators directing and producing The Lost Ones, Susan D. Rose, professor at Dickinson College in Carlisle, PA will introduce the film and be available for discussion after the screening.
