About the Teaching Artist
Kiara Reid is a Diné and French Canadian artist from the Navajo Nation. Her artwork draws from both traditional and contemporary practices, using textiles, painting, beading, and more to express her connection to the land, culture, and community. Through art, Kiara bridges ancestral teachings with modern life, believing creativity is a path to joy, healing, and self-expression. She shares her knowledge through workshops across Turtle Island, inspiring others to explore their creative potential.
What is Creative Aging?
Creative Aging programs at the Heard Museum are designed to help participants (55+) develop their artistic abilities through intentional, step-by-step instruction. These activities provide opportunities for meaningful connection and interaction with others while learning a new medium and working on your own creation. They are led by professional teaching artists and encourage community engagement alongside other creative minds. Register for our next Creative Aging event today!
