Explore Wisdom from the Future with Curator Olivia Barney
Join us for the final opportunity to experience Wisdom from the Future with a Heard Museum curator before the exhibition closes. During this special 30-minute talk, Heard Museum Curator Olivia Barney (Diné) will take a closer look at the exhibition and the voices and visions of the acclaimed Indigenous artists featured within it.
Wisdom from the Future asks a compelling question: What wisdom would these artists share with their younger selves? Through artwork paired with personal reflections, the exhibition offers insight into pivotal moments of inspiration, perseverance, and artistic growth.
Artists represented include Kay WalkingStick (Cherokee), Norbert Peshlakai (Diné), Preston Singletary (Tlingit), Tony Abeyta (Diné), Shonto Begay (Diné), Verma Nequatewa (Hopi), Nora Naranjo Morse (Tewa/Kha’P’o Ówîngeh), Juanita Growing Thunder Fogarty (Fort Peck Assiniboine/Sioux), Barbara Teller Ornelas (Diné), Richard Zane Smith (Wyandot), and others.
Don’t miss this final opportunity to explore the exhibition with a curator before it closes!
