Creative Aging Workshop: Pottery

Yolanda Hart Stevens will lead and conduct this clay pottery workshop. Participants will embark on a hands-on journey to explore the art of crafting pottery from raw clay. They will learn essential techniques, including hand-building, wheel-throwing, and glazing, to create both functional and decorative ceramic pieces.

Throughout the workshop, attendees will gain an understanding of clay’s properties, its transformation during firing, and the various tools used to shape and refine their creations. In addition to developing technical skills, participants will also discover the creative freedom and meditative aspects of working with clay, fostering their artistic expression while producing unique, personalized pottery pieces.

Please note the class is open to applicants 55 years and older. Students must be able to attend all class sessions. Applicants will only be contacted if selected.
