Near 3 p.m., the afternoon wraps up with a concert by Keith Secola, a 7X Native American Music Award winner known for blending humor, storytelling and community spirit — and hits like Frybread and NDN Kars, where a little grease helps keep things rolling — performing alongside One Way Sky.
The museum, Café, Cantina, Shop and bookstore will be open throughout the event. Make sure to try some Prickly Pear Lemonade. Come hungry, bring your friends and family, and enjoy an afternoon at the Heard!
There will also be a Designated Quiet Zone available to provide a low sensory, quiet space available for anyone who might need a break from the excitement.
About Keith Secola
Keith Secola is an iconic Anishinaabe musician and one of the most influential voices in contemporary Native music. Often compared to Neil Young and Bruce Springsteen, he is best known for “NDN Kars,” a modern Native anthem that has been a top request on tribal radio since the early 1990s. Born in 1957 in Cook, Minnesota, Secola holds degrees in Public Service and American Indian Studies and was inducted into the Native Music Hall of Fame in 2011. A seven-time Native American Music Award winner, he is a skilled multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, and producer who has performed around the world, including the Olympics, the Kennedy Center, and the Smithsonian. He has released six acclaimed independent albums.
