The sky is not the limit for the last Free Family Summer Saturday of the season. Join fellow scientists for a day of activities at the Heard Museum connected to science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics. Click here for the parking map.
If you and your family love hands-on learning, you won’t want to miss this program. Free Summer Saturday: Full STEAM Ahead is a day of family-friendly fun at the museum.
Activities will be available all day unless otherwise noted:
- Experience Species of the River digital project with Pascua Yaqui artist, Selina Martinez, creator of Juebenaria
- Peer at the sun using solar telescopes and make your own personal UV detector with the Northern Arizona University’s Department of Astronomy & Planetary Science
- Paint your own wooden laser cut and engraved keychain
- Learn about solar cars with the City of Phoenix Office of Sustainability
- Hop inside the Phoenix Public Library’s Bookmobile and check out STEAM-related books
- Complete an in-gallery art search to earn a special prize
- Make STEAM-based art
- Discover more about efficiency and electric vehicles with Drive Electric Arizona/Valley of the Sun Electric Vehicle Association and see a few up-close!
- Meet the award-winning robot from the Bioscience High School’s Dragon Robotics Club
- Engage the senses as our first tools for learning and connection with ASU School of Art
- Make STEAM-based art with Lowell Observatory’s Native American Astronomy Outreach Program
