In tandem with the presentation of Still Life No. 3: Raven Chacon, on view through November 3, 2019, the Heard Museum is partnering with Arizona State University and Herberger Institute Professor Wanda Dalla Costa, AIA, LEED A.P., in producing an artist-led workshop with renowned composer and visual artist Raven Chacon. The workshop participants will work with both Dalla Costa and Chacon in experimenting with the building of sound, the ways in which architecture and construction of a space influence engagement with that space and its sonic qualities; the notion of durational spaces and performance environments and how those come into being. The workshop will culminate with a performance that will take place on the ASU Tempe Campus on the evening of August 27, 2019 – where students will present their projects in a non-structured environment.
