Explore the Work of Jamie Okuma with Heard Museum Curator Roshii Montaño
Join us for an Artful Morning with Curator Roshii Montaño (Diné) as she explores the work of Jamie Okuma (Luiseño/Shoshone-Bannock, b. 1977). Drawing from works in the Heard Museum’s collection, the presentation considers her practice across soft sculpture, beaded sculpture, and couture fashion.
Through selected examples, the discussion looks closely at Okuma’s use of material, detail, and construction, and how her work moves between sculptural and wearable forms.
