Native artists invited to Master Artist Workshop on basketmaking near Camp Verde, Ariz.

Calling American Indian basketweavers:

Join Yavapai-Apache basket artists Donna, Francis and Tyrone Nightpipe in a Master Artists Workshop on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 23-24, at the Yavapai-Apache Cultural Resource Center, presented by the Heard Museum and supported by the Margaret A. Cargill Foundation.

The Heard Museum Master Artist Workshop Series provides up-and-coming and mid-career Native artists access to mentorship with a master-level artist. Upon completion of the course, attendees will receive an honorarium for participation.

Participants must be at least 18 years old. Food will be provided. Travel stipends will be given to participants coming from outside the local area. The center is located at 3452 Smith Ave. on the Yavapai-Apache Nation near Camp Verde, Ariz.

Space is limited, so registration as soon as possible is encouraged.
