In conjunction with July’s First Friday’s programming, on July 7 the Heard Museum is excited to celebrate the 110th birthday of Frida Kahlo with the Phoenix Fridas, an award-winning Phoenix-based Latina artists collective, who will showcase and sell their art through the evening. Heard visitors will remember the Phoenix Fridas from last year’s Fiesta de Frida birthday party, as well as their collaboration with the museum to realize the exhibition Las Favoritas de Frida in 2015.
General admission to the museum is free, but Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera is a specially ticketed exhibition and is still subject to a $7 charge per person. No ticket sales or first-time entry to the museum after 9:30 p.m.
Be sure to get here early so you can enter to win goodie bags from the Phoenix Fridas that will be raffled off throughout the night. Bags include exclusive hand-painted Frida Kahlo portrait cookies by Alicia’s Delicias! Special food and drinks will be available for purchase at the Museum’s Courtyard Café.
